Many Junior colleges and colleges have health centers on campus, but, with budget cuts many heath centers are down sizing or being eliminated. Health centers are good for minor health issues but they do not cover hospitalizations.
If your student participates in athletics the colleges require they have individual health insurance in case of injury.
We've all read that the new health care legislation will allow parents to keep their children on their group insurance until age 26. President Obama, in his State of the Union address said that group insurance is cheaper than individual health insurance coverage. That may be true in some states, but not in California.
